Muong Thanh Suoi Mo Hotel

Project: Muong Thanh Suoi Mo Hotel – Quang Ninh.

Building upon the success of previous projects executed by the Vietnam Industrial Construction and Electrical Equipment Joint Stock Company (ICO) in Quang Ninh, Suoi Mo Hotel and Tourism Joint Stock Company selected ICO as the electrical grid contractor for the Muong Thanh Holiday Suoi Mo Hotel project. Located in the heart of Bai Chay—Quang Ninh province’s most vibrant tourism hub—the project represents an investment of approximately 3 billion VND.

The scope of work undertaken by ICO for the Muong Thanh Suoi Mo project includes:
Installation of the 1250kVA-22/0.4kV transformer substation system
Supply of the electrical panel system.

Currently, the power line serving Muong Thanh Suoi Mo Hotel is line 473E5.4, fed from the main circuit (MC) to disconnector (DCL) 473-7E5.4/38, then running independently to Ring Main Unit (RMU) 40-3/473E5.4 and DCL 40-3-1 before reaching the work site.

To meet project requirements, ICO has relocated and upgraded the transformer station capacity from 750kVA (22/0.4kV) to 1250kVA (22/0.4kV) to support hotel and service operations.

To construct the 1250kVA-22/0.4kV transformer station system, the ICO team carried out the following tasks:

– Excavated and cast the foundation for pole M14-1 and erected one 14m spun concrete pole.

– Installed one outdoor horizontal-rotating disconnector (DCL).

– Excavated and cast the foundation, constructed, and installed one complete 3-compartment kiosk-type transformer station.

– Completed all necessary connections.

– Conducted equipment testing both before and after installation.

– The project has passed technical acceptance and is awaiting final grid connection.

Upon completion of the aforementioned tasks, the ICO team proceeded with the next phase of work: cutting off the power supply to lower the conductors and cross-arms; installing the pole-top cap; reinstalling the cross-arms, insulators, and insulator strings at pole location 40-3-5; re-tensioning the conductors and adjusting the sag; and finally making the connections to the pole-mounted disconnector switch for the 1250kVA-22/0.4kV transformer station.

On July 2, 2020, ICO—in collaboration with Quang Ninh Power Corporation and Ha Long City Power Company—successfully energized the electrical system for the Muong Thanh Holiday Suoi Mo Hotel project, ensuring a reliable and safe power supply for the hotel’s business and service operations.

The successful energization of the Muong Thanh Suoi Mo Hotel further demonstrates ICO’s growing capabilities and continuous progress in undertaking major national-scale projects, while reaffirming its standing as a key supplier of electrical materials and equipment to the power sector nationwide.
